Rising Blog
One WordPress plugin. Every way to show off your blog.
Rising Blog is a design and layout plugin for WordPress blogs. It replaces your default post grid and single-post template with a fully customizable system — pick a layout, set your colors once, and every card, button, and comment on your site follows along. No page builder, no custom CSS required (though you can add your own if you want to).
Why Rising Blog
Most blog plugins give you one look and a handful of toggles. Rising Blog gives you a real design system: three archive layouts, three single-post layouts, a site-wide color scheme, and fine-grained control over typography, images, pagination, and comments — all from one settings screen, and all changeable without touching a template file.
Features
Three archive layouts, swap anytime
Choose from three distinct card designs for your blog listing page. Each is a complete visual style — thumbnails, titles, meta, and read-more buttons all redesign together. Preview them side by side before you activate one.
Three single-post layouts
Pair your archive design with a matching single-post template, or mix and match: a full-width hero header (Feature), a bordered content card (Framed), or a minimal centered article view (Focus). Switch per-site in seconds.
One color scheme, everywhere
Set a Primary, Secondary, and Accent color once, and they flow through the entire plugin — links, read-more buttons, pagination, the comment form, all of it. Rebrand your whole blog in three clicks instead of hunting through a dozen settings panels.
Full typography and content control
Font size, weight, style, color, background, line height, letter spacing, and text transform for post titles. Choose full-text or word-count-limited summaries for your listing page. Customize your “Read More” text and icon, its color, background, and position.
Consistent, non-stretched thumbnails
Toggle between fixed-height cropped thumbnails (so every card lines up, no matter what size photo an author uploads) or natural proportions if you prefer an organic, Pinterest-style grid.
Recommended Posts, with optional carousels
Show related posts below the article and/or in a sidebar — independently configurable card styles, counts, and titles for each. Turn on a lightweight carousel with its own desktop/mobile item counts, scrollbar, and navigation arrows, or leave it as a simple wrapping grid.
Flexible sidebar layouts
Full width, left sidebar, or right sidebar for single posts — plus two dedicated widget areas so you can drop in anything else from Appearance → Widgets alongside the built-in Recommended Posts block.
Built-in comments, styled to match
A complete, threaded comment list and reply form — card-style design, avatar rings, and a reply system that actually nests — using WordPress’s own comment system underneath (so moderation, spam protection, and notifications all keep working exactly as they do today). Turn the whole section on or off, and set your own heading.
Pagination your way
Classic numbered pagination, a “Load More” button, or no pagination at all. Custom prev/next text, alignment, and style.
Escape hatch: Custom CSS
Every setting above is a real, structured option — but if you need one more tweak, there’s a Custom CSS box built right into the plugin. No child theme required.
Who it’s for
Anyone running a WordPress blog who wants their post listings and single-post pages to look intentional — without hiring a developer or wrestling with a page builder. Works alongside your existing theme; Rising Blog only takes over the blog listing and single-post areas you assign to it.
